The Dutch photographer Sander Meisner (b. 1979) photographs public spaces in an abstract way. He takes photos while wandering through cities, looking for the grey edges of the city. He waits for the moment that the changing of light does something colourful to the place. As Meisner says of his work: "I love light. I love how it transforms and distorts spaces and places. I photograph places that nobody considers to be beautiful or important, but at night they gain in weight and importance."
Meiner is a self-taught photographer, living and working in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
