There were also a number of photography awards handed out before the calm of summer. And not just any awards. Viviane Sassen won the Prix de Rome, the oldest national award in the Netherlands for artists under the age of 35. Her prize-winning work shows Ghana from a completely different perspective. Am I really looking at a country from the African continent? The WassinkLundgren team saw their work Empty Bottles awarded best international photo book at the prestigious Rencontres d’Arles photo festival. And advertising agency 180 received a Clio Award for their Adidas print campaign. Photography: Morad Bouchakour.
