The Invariant Right by James Thomas (Lancashire, Engeland 1984) is a reaction to the commercialisation of public spaces. The idea was inspired by the scripted disorientation methods employed by big retail. The images are single, un-manipulated photographs, produced in camera at the time of exposure. Thomas: "As much as I love Photoshop, I always prefer photography."
The Invariant Right is currently showing around Australia as part of the ACMP (Australian Commercial and Media Photographers) Projections showcase of emerging talent in the country.
