Saw the Splendour

Toronto-based photographer Osheen Harruthoonyan's series Saw the Splendour poses as a documentation of the natural world, falling between reality and a vivid dream. The photographs were created with through alternate-process photography, where Harruthoonyan uses analog photography and collage. His images are studio constructions, with layers of black and white emulsion, chemically lifted, then sculpted and repositioned before the photograph is printed. The title of the series is an indicaiton and hint to the sensation of being one step away from unlocking the mysteries of our universe.
