Stay, by Australian photographer Nina White, is a personal story showing her response to the ailing health of her grandparents. The images, simple and calm, present both a complex emotional journey as well as the literal harsh truths of hospital treatments. Using a mostly minimal colour palette of whites and subdued blues and greys, the photographs constantly engage with the battle between life and death. White says that "the work particularly focuses on the emotional transitions made within the past year of recovery and the traces of trauma still remaining."
A custom hand-made book of the work, with images and short narrative texts, is available for sale directly from the artist.
