Ezio D’Agsotino’s work contains something of the archeological, for it evidences a minute observation of his physical environment. His photographs, which often feature unexpected details from his surroundings, seem to slice and divide space, providing new insight into the ordinary and commonplace. It is precisely the absence of the spectacular, of the extraorindary, which contitutes the subject matter and theme of D’Agostino’s images. 

Paris’ Galerie Lucie Weill & Seligmann will feature mostly images from D’Agostino’s series entitled Alphabet, which, through its focus on the ordinary, explores issues of time and space, and uncovers, as put by the photographer himself, the visual alphabet of the photographed site at hand.
