Event details
The exhibition Moments of Reprieve, which takes its title from Primo Levi’s collection of autobiographical vignettes on his time in Auschwitz, alludes to and explores the challenges of conveying loss through photography. The work of eight contemporary photographers will be displayed, often suggesting how images speak more loudly through what they referain from depicting rather than through what is literally portrayed.
The featured artists include David Birkin, Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanrin, Ori Grescht, Idris Kahn, Eleonora Rossi, Indre Serpytyte, Taryn Simon and Jane and Louise Wilson. The exhibition is curated by Louisa Adam and David Birkin.
Moments of Reprieve was originally displayed in Tallin Estonia, in October 2011, the year the city was named European Capital of Culture. For more on this exhibition visit Paradise Row’s website.
