Rooted in the collective history and memory of her own country, Brazil, Rosângela Rennó‘s work redefines appropriation art. Winterthur’s Fotomuseum presents the exhibition entitled Strange Fruits, after Rennó‘s series Frutos Estranhos, wherein mostly sculptural and three-dimensional installation works showcase the artist’s intent to imbue her found photographs with unexpected cultural and often political significance.
