Erik Kessels, known for his unorthodox and often statement-making installation methods, makes an homage to the family photo album, a novelty in today’s modern, technological era, in the exhibition Album Beauty. An assemblage of family photographs from a variety of albums are on display, some in their original format while others are augmented to fit an entire wall.

Album Beauty evokes familiar emotions, despite its anonymous subjects, depicting key moments in any human being’s life, in an exploration of the visual anthropological study that is the photo album.
