Event details

The retrospective exhibition featuring the work of acclaimed Chilean-born artist Alfredo Jaar, currently on display at the Berlinische Galerie, spans approximately four decades worth of work.

The exhibition includes the series entitled A New World, comprised of five large-format photographs of the Bradenburg Gate, taken at around the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall. These are complemented by  photographs taken in Africa, centered around the Rwandan genocide and the South African apartheid. Lesser known pieces are also on display, including some noteworthy images of the Chilean dictatorship, taken between 1974 and 1981.
