‘From Here On’ sheds a radically new light on photography. This exhibition introduces a variety of international artists, who all use the overload of digital images that can be found on the Internet for their work. They recycle, clip and cut pictures out of Google Earth, Google Street View, Facebook, Flickr, and other popular mediums. Acclaimed collectors of these kind of images (Martin Parr, Erik Kessels, Joachim Schmid, among others) present a new photographical discipline. Does this mean that traditional photography is dead? ‘From here on’, previously showing at Recontres d’Arles (2011), opens the debate on the future of photography, while broaching on issues such as copyright, authorship and privacy.
