Event details

The Kahmann Gallery is presenting a solo exhibition of Willem Diepraam; the important Dutch photographer who through the photographs he took in The Netherlands as well in Southern Europe, South Africa, Suriname and Africa between 1960 and 2010, was able to capture the zeitgeist of that period. Diepraam has had a large influence on Dutch photojournalism, partly through his impressive early photographs for magazines such as Vrij Nederland. His ability to subtly capture the core of great stories is evident throughout his whole body of work, including his more recent fine art photographs.

As the Rijksmuseum is exhibiting an extensive overview of Diepraam’s work when it reopens mid-2012, the Kahmann Gallery is giving the public a small preview of what will be shown there.

Willem Diepraam has been mentioned by GUP before here.
