Event details
French organisation Eyes in Progress is offering master photography workshops in Paris and Barcelona throughout 2012. From the 25th till the 28th of April, Magnum photographer Mark Power will lead a workshop on Industrial and urban landscapes in Paris. The workshop is open to nine participants, either professional photographers or advanced amateurs who wish to improve or experiment with a new genre. Partcipants can now submit their portfolio!
Focused on the quality of the program, the workshops are directed at professional photographers and serious amateurs looking to improve their craft or broaden their horizons. After completion of the workshops, participants’ portfolios will be published on Eyes in Progress’ website.
About leading the Eyes in Progress workshop, Mark Power says: “Iʼve been involved in teaching at the University of Brighton, on Englandʼs south coast, for the past twenty years. Iʼve also led a number of workshops. Although there are no ʻsecretsʼ to reveal, I do think itʼs possible to help everyone reach the next rung of their own personal ladder. But teaching is not entirely altruistic; Iʼve had the extraordinary privilege of sharing ideas with some of the very brightest young talents. I wouldnʼt be the photographer (or the person) I am today without it.”
After a day of projections on industrial and urban landscapes photography, Mark Powerʼs work and each participantʼs portfolios reviews, there will be several shooting sessions in the industrial buildings and urban spaces available into the XXth Parisian area. Then group critiques, editing and improvements suggestions will take place. Finally, the participants will be asked to create a portfolio of their work that will be published on Eyes in Progressʼs website.
There is a limited number of participants, selected upon portfolio review. Click here for registration information and to submit your portfolio. Applications close March 25, the duration of the workshop is four days and the price is € 900.
