Weegee is the famous ambulance-chasing photographer of New York in the 1930’s and 40’s. Firmly establishing himself in the accident and gore business, his work later came to be appreciated as a kind of art in its own right, now honored with exhibitions in museums worldwide. This exhibition is hosted by the International Center for Photography (ICP) in New York, and includes a selection of Weegee’s images from ICP’s archive as well as some recreations of his working environment and exhibitions.
