Event details

From 2003 to 2007, the author Will Tinnemans and the Dutch photographer Jan Banning, whose book we also discussed last year, shot bureaucrats scattered across eight countries, from China to the United States and through India, Liberia, Yemen, Bolivia, Russia and France. “The idea that underlies Bureaucratics is based on experiences and irritations resulting from bureaucratic procedures, as well as the fascination we hold for the way millions of officials worldwide run on governments […] The photographer has opted for a concept and a composition that is tight, with a parallel arrangement of visual objects. Connoisseurs will recognise Dutch masters such as Johannes Vermeer and Piet Mondrian.”
