Event details

Suddenly interior and art are brought together, by Op De Sofa, in an exhibition (Aan De Muur) where a bunch of photographers show case their work. This bunch consists of Lies Musch, who creates her own made silkscreen prints entitled Serendipity. Her screen prints entail a somewhat dark side, just like hiding your feelings behind a mask. Someone who works in a similar atmosphere is Bart Oomes, a surgeon amongst the photographers. He sheds light on the mysterious side of daily objects; trying to create a surprising, somewhat absurd, effect.

Carmen Kemmink, one of the most wanted fashion photographers, is inspired by extraordinary stories and fantasies. For this particular exhibition she let herself be inspired by the first female pilot, Amelia Earhart. She creates a soft, feminine border for an image that exudes strength. Whilst, Jos Kottmann, attracts the soul with his series You’re My Inspiration; a depiction of the biggest house dj’s, an interest that started to grow from a young age.

In contrary to the aforementioned, Duy Quoc Vo, who studied at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute and specialed in Visual Culture and Philosophy, asks us to look at a world besides our own. Bram Spaan, keeps himself bubsy with the not staged photography, such as street photography. He investigates the way in which we interact with each other on a daily basis, and Salimah Gablan works in a similar way. She embraces the moments that she didn’t look or ask for. Those moments when your heart starts beating faster because something unexpected just happened, that is what she captures; those exact moments.
