Event details
French organisation Eyes in Progress is offering master photography workshops in Paris and Barcelona throughout 2012, starting in February with a portraiture class animated by Richard Dumas at Bar Floréal in Paris. Partcipants can now submit their portfolio!
Focused on the quality of the program, the workshops are directed at professional photographers and serious amateurs looking to improve their craft or broaden their horizons. After completion of the workshops, participants’ portfolios will be published on Eyes in Progress’ website.
Animated by renown photographers in their own field, the nine classes will take place either in Paris or Barcelona. This first edition, focused on ‘Portraiture’, will be held by Richard Dumas of L’Agence Vu. Throughout the year, masterclasses are given by photographers such as Juan Manuel Castro Pietro of L’Agence Vu (a personal journey), Mark Power of Magnum (industrial & urban), Eddie Keogh of Reuters (sport), Patrick Zachmann of Magnum (documentary), Pascal Maître who works for National Geographic (Man and his environment) and Juan Fontcuberta (conspiring photography).
In her own words, the organiser Véronique Sutra explains the concept of Eyes in Progress: “I wanted to create a program that responded to traditional needs of quality apprenticeship for professional photographers on one hand, but I also wanted to integrate this experience into the contemporary landscape of new modes of social communication on the web; including exchanges with recognised experts in the art and journalism world.”
There is a limited number of participants, selected upon portfolio review. Click here for registration information and to submit your portfolio. Applications close January 22, the duration of the workshop is four days and the price is € 400.
