Event details

Even though she was an artist of her time, Francesca Woodman (1958-1981) captured images that retain undeniable immediacy. Today, thirty years after her death, she still manages to inspire her audience. Her photographs portray dazzling ambiguity; exploring the self-portraiture of the body and the architectural space it finds itself in. Woodman’s retrospective explores her complex body of work that was produced before her tragic suicide at the age of 22. The complete picture, including books and videos, tells the tale of a young photographer concerned with femininity and female subjectivity, within her era.
