Diane Arbus (New York, 1923-1971) celebrated things as they are. She produced a series of works that were often extremely shocking in its most purest form. She revolutionised the art she practiced by rendering the things we find most familiar, strange. By uncovering the exotic in the familiar we are able to enlarge the understanding of ourselves.
