Catching their subject from two different angles Thijs groot Wassink (1981) and Ruben Lundgren (1983) decided for more complete images of the daily urban life of the inhabitants of Japan’s megalopolis. Designed by Kummer&Herrman this is “a series of dyptychs in which the mythical 'decisive moment' of traditional documentary photography is lampooned. WassinkLundgren playfully turn the unwritten rules of the photography upside down. But behind the joke is always a serious attempt to expand both the artistic as well as the social significance of their medium” - Frits Gierstberg, Dutch Photo Museum.
