USEFUL PHOTOGRAPHY #010 features a collection of wedding pictures that you would usually only encounter on challenging family gatherings or whilst passing by the display of a conservative photography store. Although all couples aim to celebrate and commemorate their ‘decisive moment’ in a unique way, due to festive and photographic conventions - from the famous kiss to the flying pigeons - the wedding ritual captured by amateurs or professionals eventually turns into a chain of clichés. Deconstructed, appropriated, and restaged the Wedding now reappears in a very appealing edition of Useful Photography, packaged in a satin-imitation cover, garnished with shimmering roses.
Collected and edited by Hans Aarsman, Claudie de Cleen, Julian Germain, Erik Kessels, Hans van der Meer.
