Governments are paying more attention than ever to horizon and landscape pollution. This has resulted in more creative solutions to industrial elements going up in natural environments. Robert Voit (1969, Germany) discovered a new sort of tree in the US, South Africa and Europe. Towering telephone antennas camouflaged as a cyprus, cactus, palm or pine tree. They can be found in desserts, car parks, residential neighbourhoods or between their real colleagues in a recently planted forest. Spot the differences.

New Trees was featured in GUP#26, the Vernacular issue. It's available for sale from publisher Steidl.
