Naomi Harris (1973, Toronto) observes American life in a different way. Are Americans prudish? For ‘America Swings’, her first book, she roamed the U.S. over a period of five years, searching for various kinds of ‘swing parties’. Whether it is on a camping ground, in the woods, in a trailer or at a home; Harris shows the palette of the American swingers and their - occasionally hilarious - sexual fantasies. The dry presentation of the subject is fascinating. ‘It is what it is’. Are lust and love actually two different worlds?
‘America Swings’, with an interview by Richard Prince, is available in limited print (1000 copies).
