Wolvenstraat 1974

Since Jutka Rona developed her photographical career outside of the art scene, her first book was never welcomed as a major ‘artist book’. Indeed, during the year 1974 she took daily one photograph, between 12 and 2pm, from the same angle, of the same street, the Wolvenstraat in Amsterdam – giving her project this typical approach of conceptual art, but including atypically biographical comments the days she wasn’t able to take a picture (for example the day she buried her father or when she overslept).
