In The Netherlands they are considered Moroccan, in Morocco they are seen as Dutch. Fifteen former foreign labourers share their life stories. All the men lived and worked in The Netherlands for at least 20 years before returning to the mountains in the north of Morocco, their country of origin. Curious as to what instigated their return or wondering what their most difficult moments were? You will be given all the answers as the people interviewed provide a detailed account. As well as 15 interviews, the book contains just the kind of astonishing portraits we have come to expect from Joost van den Broek. Moroccan in Holland, Dutchamn in Morroco has been described as ‘a tribute to the foreign labourers of the past and an attempt to prevent their history being forgotten.’
