Daniel Lainé's photos are not black and white, in fact; it’s a lot more complex and colourful than that. In African Gods, we encounter the legacy of voodoo in contemporary Africa as Daniel Lainé takes us on a journey through the world of spirits and gods and to the places where the connection between the natural and the supernatural is still regarded as important. Lainé takes us on a tour through 12 African countries: Nigeria, Benin, Togo, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Guinea, Cameroon, Mali, Congo, Gabon and Uganda – with each series supported by its own specific spiritual story. Enjoy the evocative series of colour photographs, read the informative texts and learn something about the unknown. Rituals, witch doctors, exorcisms, spells and magic dances abound. Spooked yet?
