Held in the lovely city of Perpignan on the French coast, Visa Pour l'Image is one of the most prominent international festivals of photojournalism. This 24th edition runs daily from September 1 to September 16, presenting 27 exhibitions of works by renown photojournalists such as Julien Goldstein, Stanley Greene and Stephanie Sinclair. It also includes the conclusion of the World Press Photo tour.
Every evening from September 3 to September 8, daily screenings at the large Campo Santo Plaza and Place de la République feature the main news stories and events of the past year across the world, covering all topics from war and politics to sports and culture.
Professional week, from September 1 to September 9, offers photographers the opportunity to meet with peers and discuss a wide variety of professional topics, with lively debates, a symposium and "meet the photographer" sessions.
The festival closes with the Visa d'Or Awards for news reporting and feature reporting. This year, the City of Perpignan has created a new award to honor Rémi Ochlik, the French photoreporter who was killed in Syria earlier this year.
