Picture Perfect

Victor Shadow has an extensive collection of old photos and photo books scavenged from flea markets and attics. Every two months he picks a photo suiting our theme and writes a witty anecdote, story, memory etcetera with it. In this GUP he kicks off with a photo, found in a photo frame dating from the eighties.

This image pays testament to the fact that the eighties are in again (incase you hadn’t noticed). The hair is just that little bit too professionally back- combed, the clothes OTT Mad Max and the face a tad on the shiny side. This mass produced image was

inserted into photo frames to boost sales thereof back in the eighties. After the purchase proud new owners could go home and insert their own photo. The sales gimmick worked; thankfully we forgot to put in our own photo.
