Looking back, we are quite proud of all the beautiful content we have published in the magazine and at our website this year. We would love to share our 2011 favourites with you in the coming days. Today our chief-editor Erik Vroons shares his favourite portfolios.

"My favourite portfolio of 2011 shows the works made during ISSP. In August this year, I was invited to be part of a very special summer school in Kuldiga, Latvia. The International Summer School for Photography is an annual initiative by a group of super cool young Latvians. Every year, they manage to create an excellent team of world-class teachers (this year: Vanessa Winship, George Georgiou, Michael Ackerman, Claudine Doury, David Bate, Arno Minkinen) that work with a selected group of emerging talents from all over the world in an intense but very inspiring workshop setting. Secluded from the outside world, in a castle somewhere in the Latvian forest, the students had to come up with new works of which we showed some highlights in our e-zine."
