Applications are now open for the 11th edition of the International Summer School of Photography (ISSP) in Latvia. Taking place from August 6 - 14 in Kuldīga, Latvia, the ISSP offers a diverse choice of advanced masterclasses by internationally acclaimed photographers and artists. These masterclasses, in combination with portfolio reviews and evening programmes of artist talks and presentations, are aimed to help photographers produce fresh and exciting work.
This year the masterclasses are given by: Anouk Kruithof (NL/US), Paolo Woods (IT), Alejandro Chaskielberg (AR), Federico Clavarino (IT), Jason Evans (UK) and Taiyo Onorato (CH). Each masterclass has 12 participants.
Set in a unique Latvian countryside location, the ISSP makes close interaction between participants, tutors and staff an integral part of the event. The programme is focused on practice-based learning, and each student has a week to create a new, individual project under the guidance of their tutor, which will then be presented in the opening of the group exhibition in Kuldīga.
The programme is open to emerging photographers, students of photography and art,and artists working with photography who wish to benefit from a concentrated learning experience and meet colleagues from all over the world. 72 participants will be selected on the basis of a competitive applications process. The call is open until May 8, 2016.
