Every two years in Cologne, the photokina festival takes place, with an emphasis on the full spectrum of imaging: image capture, image processing, storage, and image output. Taking place at a primary exhibition center and at locations throughout Cologne, photokina will consist of a staggering 1,251 exhibitors from 45 countries.
Featuring workshops, symposiums, exhibitions and special events. Exhibitions will include The German Young Photographer Prize, United Nations: Seven Decades of Photography, German Nature Photographers (GDT) European Wildlife Photographer of the Year. The IMAGO1:1 “Imaging without Boundaries” event will showcase work using the most unconventional contemporary imaging techniques or unusual materials. Learn about outdoor and underwater photography, try out mobile or video cameras, or see and touch fine art papers to learn more about them. There are also a series of contests that visitors can participate in.
This year, photokina takes place from September 18 – 23, 2012, with visiting hours from 10am-6pm daily. Tickets can be bought on the photokina web site or at the ticket office.
