From the 23rd til the 26th of May 2012, renowned sports photographer Eddie Keogh will lead a workshop on sport photography at ‘Studio Nicolas Spinosa’ in Barcelona. The London based photographer is an award-winning master of the discipline who shot his seventh football World Cup finals in 2010, and has worked for many major newspapers in the UK. His photographs were awarded with the Sports News Picture of the Year prize in both 2009 & 2010, and he won the UK Picture Editors Guild Sports Photographer of the Year in 2010.

The first workshop day will start off with a session in which the work of several sports photographers – included Keogh’s – will be discussed and analyzed, after which each participant’s portfolio will be reviewed. The rest of the days will be devoted to gaining practical skills; the group will attend and photograph sports events, including a game of football, hockey, athletics, BMX biking and eventually a diving session. At last, participants will create a new portfolio of their work which will be featured on the Eye in Progress website.

The workshop is open to 9 participants who are either professional photographers, or advanced amateurs seeking to improve or experiment with a new genre of photography. Workshop fee is 900 € (incl. VAT), and applications are open until April 22nd. For more information about the workshop visit www.eyesinprogress.com/225/sport.html.
