Shortlist Anounced for the Sony World Photography Awards 2012
The shortlist for the Sony World Photography Awards 2012 has been announced. The large range of prize categories gives everyone from young upcoming photographers to established masters a chance to receive recognition for their work. This year, the organization received 112,000 entries from 171 countries. This work will be featured in a major exhibition at London’s Somerset House in April 2012, taking place alongside World Photo London, the month-long photography event. Categories include Photojournalism & Documentary photography, Commercial photography, Fine Arts photography, Youth Award, and Open Competition. In each category the jury could select up to three finalist photographers and up to seven additional shortlist photographers. From the finalists, the winners plus 2nd and 3rd place will be chosen as well as announced at the awards ceremony in London on April 26th. To view all shortlisted photographers, click here.
